An introduction

The other day I Googled myself and exclaimed, “Holy crap.”

Among the search results were dozens of accounts I’d opened on websites I have since forgotten existed. I tend to be over-enthusiastic when I find a cool, new website. I don’t even have the chance to blink before I click on the “Sign Up” button. My “try anything” attitude and insatiable curiosity often lead me to sign up for the latest and greatest social networking sites.

My digital presence has a certain ebb and flow that changes weekly. Sometimes I get bored and may ditch one site for a while, but hop back on a few months later in a renewed wave of interest. Other networks you’ll find me on until the wee hours of the morning, often sacrificing sleep to soak in every bit of the fascinating things the Internet has to offer.

So where can you actually find me nowadays? Facebook (duh), Twitter and lately Tumblr as well. But who knows where I’ll be in one month–six months–a year from now? The ever-changing landscape of social media is truly fascinating, as are the rapidly developing social phenomena that emerge from platforms old and new.

Regardless of which social networking sites I hop between in the months and years to come, I will use this blog as a static location for my web presence. Most importantly, this blog will be the archives for my writings of various styles and topics–but of course, my writings about social media and digital communications.

And with that being said, I officially welcome you!
