I crave organization. You wouldn’t guess it from the looks of my dorm room, but I really do love having things in order. I can’t go to Target without wasting a half hour in the office supply section inspecting notebooks, Moleskines, planners, list makers, desk calendars and anything else that helps put my life in order.
Another thing about me is that I’m a big fan of the cloud. Cloud computing is such an ingenious concept–you can store things in a magical, invisible place that doesn’t take up any of your own physical or digital space. Since I’m a college student, I’m constantly switching between university computers, my own laptop and my Smartphone. When I’m at home I use any number of our home computers. There’s only so many emails I can send to myself without getting extremely frustrated and wondering if there’s an easier way to manage my files and data.
Lucky for people like me, there is. Evernote. I discovered Evernote a couple months ago, shortly before I got my Smartphone. Even without using it on my phone, I was still smitten with the sleek design and ease of use. Adding the Evernote app to my phone just increased my adoration tenfold.
I’m a pretty scattered person. My mind jumps between thoughts within a matter of seconds; I’m constantly making lists or scribbling random ideas on pieces of paper. Evernote helps me organize everything from homework assignments to resume samples to my daily To Do lists.
There’s so much more to offer from Evernote than just your typical organizational functions. One feature I’ve found outstanding is the StudyBlue where you can turn your notes into flashcards to study for class. Awesome!
So go ahead, try out Evernote. We all could use a little more order in our lives, right?
